Our CEO, Kyle DuPont, was in Columbus hosting a focus group with senior Data and AI leaders on "The Foundation Problem." The session focused on the practical realities of what is blocking AI from moving beyond the pilot stage.
The conversation moved past the standard AI pitch and into the harder question. Why, despite the investment, are so many enterprises still stuck in proof-of-concept? The answer kept coming back to the same place. The files or data underneath.
AI didn't create the problem. It exposed it
Between 2024 and 2025, the number of organizations reporting a "data-driven culture" dropped from 48.1% to 37.3%.¹
This isn't a step backward; it's a realization. As AI scales, the uncertainty around data ownership and quality is moving from a manageable background risk to a critical failure point. Scaling AI requires solving these foundational issues before they stall the pilot.
